Proposition 65 Warning

The State of California’s Proposition 65 (Prop 65 for short) helps consumers make informed buying decisions by requiring special warnings that appear on products in California. These warnings appear on products which may potentially expose consumers to certain chemicals above specific levels.

If you live in California, you've probably seen these warnings on a wide variety of products and also in settings like restaurants and grocery stores. We care deeply about our customers’ health and safety, and hope that this information helps you better understand Prop 65 and the safety of our products.

What is this warning?

The above warning is required by California labeling law Proposition 65 (or Prop 65), which is meant to notify consumers in California of possible exposure to Prop 65-listed chemicals. A substance found in trace levels in products linked to this page is listed as a Prop 65 chemical.

Many foods contain substances, such as saturated fats, salt and sugar, that should be consumed in moderation. Similarly, some foods naturally contain Prop 65-listed substances. This does not mean that these foods should never be eaten. Interested consumers can decide what and how often to eat certain foods if they wish to reduce their exposure to these substances.

There are over 900 substances on the Prop 65 list including Vitamin A, aspirin, alcoholic beverages, and naturally occurring metallic minerals from the water and soil, like lead. Check out these helpful tips to reduce your possible exposure to Prop 65 listed chemicals.

Do similar products have the same warning?

Some similar brands also carry Prop 65 warnings. Some companies are small enough that they are not required to display the warning, and some companies elect not to provide warnings due to inconsistent enforcement of Prop 65.
